Ghoolf Book is operated by Ghoolf Lab FZCO. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use the Ghoolf Book mobile app and related web pages.
Contact us at hello@ghoolfbook.com for privacy questions, export requests, or deletion requests.
We collect email address, display name, sign-in provider information, user ID, profile country, and golf handicap details you choose to provide. Accounts are managed through Supabase Auth and may use Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple.
We collect friend codes, avatar URLs or uploaded profile photos, friend requests, friend relationships, whether you allow other golfers to find you by email, optional phone number if you add it for contacts matching, social feed posts, captions, reactions, post reports, and blocked-user preferences. Email discovery is off by default. Phone number discovery is optional, stored privately, and used only to help golfers who already have your number find you on Ghoolf.
We collect rounds, courses, tees, scores, formats, player lists, round history, casual tee times, tournaments, tee sheets, brackets, flights, pairings, standings, handicap allowance settings, and shared-round state.
When you tag specific friends on a tee time, only the tagged friends can see that they were tagged. Other friends only see the tee time after the 30-minute broadcast window, and never see who was originally tagged.
If your group uses Money Games, we collect the player-entered stake amount and currency, Skins outcomes, pairwise settlement balances, result acknowledgements, and records that a player says a payment occurred. This is private record-keeping between round participants. Ghoolf Book does not collect payment cards or bank accounts, accept deposits, process payments, initiate transfers, provide payment links, enforce debts, act as the house, or take a fee. Any payment occurs outside Ghoolf.
If you grant location permission, Ghoolf Book transmits your precise current latitude and longitude while you are using the app to show nearby golf courses and calculate course distances. We do not collect background location or use location for advertising or tracking.
If you upload a profile picture or social feed photo, we access only the photo you select from your library or camera, compress it, upload it to managed cloud storage, and save the resulting URL for the feature you used.
Ghoolf Book lets users post friends-only feed photos with short captions, react to posts, report posts, block authors, and delete their own posts. Reports and block records are used to enforce safety, hide content, investigate abuse, and respond to support requests. Public feed posts and comments are not part of v1.0.
If you enable contacts matching, your contacts' phone numbers only are sent to our matching service to identify Ghoolf users you may know. We do not send contact names, email addresses, notes, or other address book details to our servers for matching, and we do not store your contacts or their phone numbers on our servers. The matching service returns limited public profile details, such as display name and friend code, and does not return other users' phone numbers.
If notifications are enabled, we collect a push notification token. We also collect app version, device model, operating system version, crash logs, and diagnostics through Firebase Crashlytics.
We use Supabase for account authentication, the primary application database, course catalog, realtime updates, storage, and server functions; Google Firebase services for push notification delivery, crash diagnostics, and website hosting; Google Sign-In when selected; Sign in with Apple when selected; and Frankfurter for display-only foreign-exchange reference rates. These providers process information only for the feature or infrastructure service described here.
Ghoolf Book does not show ads, does not sell personal information, and does not use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.
Where required, we process personal information based on contract necessity, consent, legitimate interests, and legal obligations. We keep account and golf activity data while your account is active or as needed to provide the app. When you delete your account, live account identifiers, profile data, private settings, friend links, invites, and your posts are removed or disconnected from your account.
Game results, settlement records, and payment-history entries already shared with people you played with remain visible to those people under the name they knew. We retain these limited name snapshots and shared records for legitimate financial and game record-keeping, so another player's scorecard and payment history are not silently altered by your account deletion. The retained records are no longer linked to a live Ghoolf account and do not provide profile or social navigation.
We use row-level access controls, authenticated access checks, transport encryption, and reasonable technical safeguards to restrict account and shared-game information to the people entitled to see it.
You may request access, correction, export, deletion, or restriction of your personal information by emailing hello@ghoolfbook.com. You can manage device permissions such as location, camera, photos, and notifications in iOS Settings.
Ghoolf Book is not directed to children. Our Terms require users to be at least 18. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child, we will delete it as required by applicable law.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. The latest version will be published at ghoolfbook.com/privacy.
